DIARY GIRL - A real High School Story

AAAAH Sleep Suit

Luke has been sleeping through the night since 3.5 months when he went from being swaddled to wearing the Merlin's magic sleepsuit to bed. Well, now he is 8 months old and STILL in the sleepsuit and miserable without it. He hasn't tried to roll in it yet, but that has to be coming. Transitioning out of the sleepsuit is horrible :( And I really don't want to sleep train a kid that can stand, so I want to do it now. Oi vey. I'm tired. 

Other than that, Luke is the bomb. He claps, smiles, laughs, babbles "mamamama" and "dadadada" and "beh". Lol. He also takes 2 naps...a short one at 10am and another at 1pm when his sister goes down.

He's such a happy guy. I love him so much!

20 weeks old!

What a big boy! Seriously, this kid is huge...growing like a real Springtime weed:)

Right now he:

Loves his Merlin sleep suit

Finally takes the NUK paci

Is in daycare and loving all the kid watching

Is off the boob (stopping at 4.5 months - sorry kid)

Naps 3 times a day

He has started sleeping through the night

Aaand he has a cold (daycare!!!)...but things are looking up! This little boy definitely has some cranky moments, but overall, he's as easy as pie:)

9 weeks old

Last night we switched from the Rock n Play to the bassinet. He wasn't attached to it like Piper was, and he wasn't sleeping great anyway, so why not make the transition to flat sleeping like the rest of us. He went down like a ton of bricks at 11...for 30 minutes. At 11:30, he chugged 3oz and wouldn't fall back to sleep until after 12. Then he woke up at 4 and 7am. And he's still sleeping (it's after 8). So there you have it...crappy sleep, but transition complete. 

Now we just need his Merlin sleep suit to get here so we can lose the dang swaddle. Or as I'm sure Luke would refer to them- miniature straight jackets. My god, how he hates those things.

Every day gets better and better!

Two months old!

Luke is 2 months old!

He:

rolls front to back

Sucks his fists

Has gone on two 4 hour drives  to and from DC

Only had a couple severely gross blowout diapers

Sleeps 11ish to 3-7am (usually around 5)

Smiles and plays happily after eating 

Has baby acne/dry skin on his cheeks

7.5 weeks old!

So, apparently having two kids is really time consuming. I don't know how the true bloggers do it. 

Updates on Luke:

He's almost 8 weeks old!!!

Jan 7th-10th- he slept through the nights! In a major way! 11pm-6:30/7am. And half the time, I had to wake him up to be fed.

Last night, he woke up once around 3am. Which is still obviously totally fine because up until this point, he's been pretty unpredictable and torturous....wanting to go to bed at 12,1, or 2am.  He's becoming such a little sleep rockstar.

Here's what we did to achieve the 11pm sleep time:

Between 7-9, get him to nap. This is always almost impossible, so it means wearing the ergo carrier and forcing it.

At 9pm, take him out and feed him 4 oz of formula. He is breastfed, but he snacks on me and is terrible with big meals, so this is my way of knowing that he is getting a good filling meal.

After food, it's playtime. 

At 10:30, bath! 

11pm - Swaddle, breastmilk and bed. Some nights he goes to bed awake, drowsy or completely passed out from boob. 

Let's hope it keeps working!
