15 Weeks - NAP!!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen...

For the first time ever...

Piper has taken a 2.5 hour nap!!!!!!

Cat naps be gone! It has finally happened...and not after a feeding or on my lap.  I mean, yes it did happen after a 5 minute car ride, so she was stuck in her carseat the whole time, but STILL. Do you know how much stuff can get done in 2.5 hours?  Literally, everything I needed to do for the whole day is done.  And most of it was done within the first half hour because I never could have guessed it would last this long.

Thank you Piper!!!

EDITED TO ADD: In the days following...this has not been duplicated:(

Sleep Regression and Baby Crunches

Beginning at 3 months & 1 week (so like 14 weeks), Piper has begun regressing in her sleep.  First, a 1am wakeup, followed by 4am the next night and 3:30am last night.  It is NOT ideal.  Before this, we were nearly incident free for 7 straight weeks where Piper would sleep until 5:30/6am and then again for another 2 hours after feeding. Oh how I miss thee days.  Now, she feeds and goes back to bed until 7am and that's it.

I'm hoping that this whole thing only lasts the 2/3 weeks that every online source says it will. And hopefully she'll grow a whole bunch during this time so that the bags under ,y eyes will feel worth it. Although she has rolled over twice in the past, she did it again yesterday, so you never know. Maybe she's hulking. We'll see.

Now, onto her baby abs of steel. They have been pretty hilarious lately.  Around 12 weeks, she suddenly started pulling herself up with her abs and hasn't stopped. It's so cute.  And to further her in her talents, I bought a bumbo-like seat (http://www.target.com/p/ingenuity-baby-base-2-in-1-booster-seat-aqua/-/A-14966215) to help her out.  So far she loves it and it's been really fun to have her sitting at the table with us.  Even if she only eats her toys:)

Hysteroscopy

To achieve a Piper, one must:

-have a uterine septum removed
-undergo 2 egg retrievals (as well as the 2 rounds of IVF that go along with it)
-have a frozen embryo transfer
-couch-rest for 4 weeks
-labor and delivery (duh)
-an immediate D&C following labor to remove rogue placenta bits from uterus
-AND at 14 weeks post partum a HYSTEROSCOPY because lo and behold the bleeding has still not withered away into nothing and an ultrasound found some "ecogenic" material lying around my a-hole uterus.

I can't believe that I still have procedures/surgeries to get through!  I kinda figured that once Piper got here, all would be well in the world and it is so not the case. There is no point in being too upset about it, but it definitely sucks. I just want to heal and have a year without any strangers up in my business. Oy.

And now...for a picture of the penguin that makes it all worth it...

8 Weeks: Chunks!

2 things have happened so far at 8.5 weeks...

*Piper has chunked up. (Chunky thighs, double chin, big ol' belly)  This makes me feel pretty good milk wise. I am a reliable source of life-giving nutrition!!! Power to my milk!

*Piper has begun sleeping 11-5:30 everynight.  I am pleased. My boobs are not.  The past couple nights we learned that Piper will put herself to sleep for good if we do not.  If I don't feed her by 10:40, she will inevitably zonk out so cold that I literally can't do anything to wake her. It's pretty funny...except for the full boob thing.

Also, I think it's important to note that Piper is the reverse-child. For instance, it seems that some babies aren't into having their diapers changed...well, Piper LOVES it.  Other kids don't seem keen on baths...Piper, obsessed. And it seems that babies aren't always the biggest fan of throwing up...Piper not only thinks it's calming and great, but she also LOVES having her mouth wiped by a burp rag.  Other than that, she's pretty fussy. Sitting on a play mat, and doing pretty much anything has about a 5 minute time limit.  A.D.D in the house!

PS. It's also possible that I've mixed her up with a dog.  Maybe babies like all of the above things too...but dogs, dogs definitely don't...making her the reverse-dog.

So excited for the holidays with our little chunky monkey!

7 weeks.

Piper is getting happier!!!

Maybe it's because she can burp now. Or maybe she's just maturing and deciding that "hey! life is short!" but either way, it's freaking awesome.  She still has fits every day, but they are no longer all day every day.  Turns out she is capable of sitting in a swing, laying on a play mat and engaging in tummy time without flipping out.

AND she has slept 11pm-5am a few days this week including the past 2 nights.  We're making strides here.

Now for some pics.

I feel that the below picture describes weeks 2.5 - 6 accurately:

And now for our chiller, much more sophisticated 7 week picture:

Happy Piper = Happy Mommy:)
